In addition to our youth activities, the
National Capital Optimist Club provides members with
opportunities for leadership and adult fellowship within the
Washington DC Metropolitan area. We conduct two dinner meetings
a month, which begin with a social hour and end with a special
program or a guest speaker. Since the National Capital Optimist
Club is also part of Optimist International, we enjoy the
excitement of travel and meeting people outside their local
community. Each member of the National Capital Optimist Club
contributes in his or her own unique way.
The National Capital Optimist Club provides
the opportunity to meet professional men and women who work and
live in our community. With membership you'll enjoy the fun and
fellowship of others who share a common vision to make a
difference in the lives of our youth.
In addition to work with the young people in
our community, members have the opportunity to develop important
leadership skills. You may choose to hold a club office or serve
as a chair of a club project. If your interest is in the
fellowship and leadership beyond our immediate club, members may
participate in both district and Optimist International
meetings. These meetings offer a variety of courses in
leadership training.
